Dermathology Procedures
Acne is undoubtedly the most common skin disorder in the world. Nearly everyone is prone
to acne. The only difference is the severity, that's all. Both male and female get acne, but
the condition on male is likelier to be more severe.
Acne is formed when the sebaceous glands secretes too much sebum in order to remove
excessive dead skin cells from our body, which inevitably brings to the formation of acne.
Basically no acne is formed without a clogged pore and hair follicle.
AGE SPOTS
Age spots — also called liver spots and solar lentigines — are flat, gray, brown or black
spots. They vary in size and usually appear on the face, hands, shoulders and arms — areas
most exposed to the sun. Though age spots are very common in adults older than age 40,
they can affect younger people as well.
True age spots are harmless and don't need treatment, but they can look like cancerous
growths. For cosmetic reasons, age spots can be lightened with skin-bleaching products or
removed. However, preventing age spots — by avoiding the sun and using sunscreen —
may be the easiest way to maintain your skin's youthful appearance and to avoid these dark
skin spots.
BIRTHMARK REMOVAL TREATMENT
A birthmark is a splotch on our skin, which can appear in a variety of colors, shapes and
sizes. While some birthmarks are small and inconspicuous, others have a more prominent
appearance, which can be bothersome to some, and can even lower their self-esteem. In
some cases, certain types of birthmarks can become a health risk. Some birthmarks do
fade or completely disappear over time, however, there are others that will never fade or
go away. Birthmark removal offers a solution to people who are self-conscious about their
appearance and even help reduce the possibility of health risks associated with certain
moles.
BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS TREATMENT
Broken blood vessels occur most frequently on the face, legs and eyes. On the face and legs, burst capillaries cause red, purple or bluish hairline marks, also called spider veins. While broken blood vessels such as spider veins aren't usually life-threatening, they often make people self-conscious, particularly if the broken blood vessels appear on the face. Dermatologists, or physicians who treat skin problems, get rid of broken blood vessels in a variety of ways. The two most common treatment methods are sclerotherapy, which uses injections into the broken blood vessel to shrink it, and laser therapy. Both include anesthetics to minimize discomfort and can be completed in the doctor's office. Some insurance plans may cover the cost of the procedure.
DERMABRASION AND MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT
Many of you will be concerned above all, with cost, but cost is irrelevant if the procedure doesn't do what you need it to do. Dermabrasion dramatically improves the appearance of the skin. It can treat deep wrinkles, scars, different skin lesions and hyperpigmentation. Despite long recovery times and relatively high cost, it's a great way to resurface the skin and get rid of more severe imperfections. Microabrasion, on the other hand, is not as effective on deep wrinkles and scars, because it only removes a very fine layer skin. But the gentle peeling can help remove fine lines, superficial scars, stretch marks, age and sunspots and it can also help with acne. Basically, microderm abrasion improves the overall complexion but also removes some mild imperfections. A big pro of microdermabrasion is that, unlike dermabrasion and other procedures (laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, etc), it can be used on the neck. The skin on the neck area is very sensitive and has an increased risk of scarring which is why it needs a gentle procedure (and microderma fits the bill).
FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER SKIN TREATMENT
The Mixto Microresurfacing laser combines the well-acknowledged gold-standard 10.6µm wavelength for skin renewal procedures with a high-speed scanner -- a revolutionary innovation in the medical laser technology. Using a proprietary algorithm, Mixto Microresurfacing laser is able to deliver a precise matrix of Microspots in Fractional mode. Furthermore, the CO2 laser wavelength is one of the few laser wavelengths that is able to penetrate to the deeper portions of the skin. This means that improvements and treatment to the deeper portions of the skin is possible unlike traditional laser technologies with only superficial benefits. It is therefore able to stimulate the formation of new collagen in the deeper layers resulting in deeper rejuvenation effects and treat stubborn skin conditions (such as deep scars and pigmentation) that were impossible with traditional non-ablative technologies. Most excitingly, immediate tightening of treated skin can be observed immediately after one session. Overall, Mixto Microresurfacing laser is an excellent treatment for deep acne scars, wrinkles and sagging skin and stubborn pigmentation (such as melasma), allowing the patient to see drastic and clinically visible improvements in the shortest treatment cycle.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair. Although laser hair removal effectively slows hair growth, it doesn't guarantee permanent hair removal. It typically takes several laser hair removal treatments to provide an extended hair-free period. Periodic maintenance treatments may be needed as well.
MOLE REMOVAL
If your doctor takes a tissue sample of the mole and finds it to be cancerous, the entire mole and a margin of normal tissue around it needs to be removed. Usually a mole that has been removed won't reappear. If it does, see your doctor promptly. These procedures are usually performed in the office of your doctor or dermatologist and take only a short time. If you have a mole that's unattractive, you may choose to cover it up using makeup designed to conceal blemishes and moles. If you have a hair growing from a mole, it may be possible to clip it close to the skin's surface. Dermatologists also can permanently remove the hair and the mole. If you have a mole in a beard, you may want to have it removed by your doctor because shaving over it repeatedly may cause irritation. You may also want to have moles removed from other parts of your body that are vulnerable to trauma and friction
PIGMENTATION TREATMENT
You may be wondering if something can be done about your pigmentation, birthmarks, sun damage, age spots or freckles. Depending on the nature of the pigmentation and your skin type, we have a pigmentation treatment for you. A combination of IPL ( pigmentation laser treatment ) and microdermabrasion will remove freckles and other unwanted pigmentation, and reduce the production of melanin in affected areas. The SkinGenesis pigmentation treatment means no more cover up
REDNESS TREATMENT
Using completely different settings to treat smaller or larger vessels, PhotoDerm in my own hands can routinely treat and improve the blush or blood vessels of Rosacea with the patient comfortable with the virtually painless treatment, and usually able to return to their normal activities within minutes after treatment. Treatment usually produces an immediate improvement which frequently continues to improve for an additional 1 to 2 weeks after each treatment. Bruising is very rare and occurs in less than 1% of treatments. Patients who have previously been treated with lasers, electric needles, sclerotherapy injections, or even by PhotoDerm administered by non-expert M.D.’s are amazed at their results after my Photoderm pulsed light treatment of new blood vessels and/ or blush
SCAR TREATMENT
Acne scar tend to effect multiple locations around your body that are usually exposed to the open atmosphere. Face, chest and back are the locations that are most affected by this abnormality because these are exposed to both dust and secrete more oil then any other part of the body. These scars do not affect a certain age group of people yet are distributed amongst all the different age groups. For most of the time, you can get rid of the acne as well as the scar with the normal treatment, yet there are conditions where the scar leaves behind after the treatment to acne is done.
SCLEROTHERAPY TREATMENT
Sclerotherapy: The injection of a chemical irritant into a vein to sclerose ("harden") it. The chemical irritates the lining of the vein, causing it to swell and the blood to clot. The vein turns into scar tissue that fades from view. Blood flow shifts to nearby healthy blood vessels. Sclerotherapy may be done to treat varicose veins, spider veins, hemorrhoids, and esophageal varices. Today the substances most commonly used for sclerotherapy in the United States are hypertonic saline or Sotradecol (sodium tetradecyl sulfate).
SKIN DISCOLORATIONS TREATMENT
Patchy skin color refers to areas of irregular skin coloring. Mottling or mottled skin refers specifically to blood vessel changes in the skin which cause a patchy appearance Exposure to sun or ultraviolet (UV) light, especially after taking a medicine called psoralens, may increase pigmentation. Increased pigment production is called hyperpigmentation.hyperpigmentation. Decreased pigment production is called hypopigmentation. Skin color changes can be a single disorder, or they may result from other medical conditions or disorders. How much skin pigmentation you have can determine, to some extent, which skin diseases you may be more likely to develop. For example, lighter-skinned people are more sensitive to sun exposure and damage, which raises the risk for skin cancers. However, too much sun exposure can lead to skin cancers even in darker-skinned people.
SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT
Wrinkles including periorbital, perioral and deep skin peeling Pigmented Lesions - sun damage and age spots Keratoses (pre-cancerous lesions) Acne scarring atrophic acne scars Laser skin resurfacing provides a very fast way to reduce deep wrinkles and fine lines on the cheeks and around the mouth and eyes by removing wrinkled tissue in micro-layers with great precision until all the damaged skin is gone. At the same time, it stimulates the body’s natural healing process to create new collagen and produce a fresher, smoother, healthier looking skin.
SPIDER VEINS REMOVAL TREATMENT
Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. For many people, varicose veins and spider veins — a common, mild variation of varicose veins — are simply a cosmetic concern. For other people, varicose veins can cause aching pain and discomfort. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
STRECTCH MARKS TREATMENT
Stretch marks or striae (singular stria), as they are called in dermatology, are a form of scarring on the skin with an off-color hue. They are caused by tearing of the dermis, and over time can diminish but not disappear completely. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (e.g. pregnancy or muscle building) or in some cases, severe pulling force on skin that overcomes the dermis' elasticity. Stretch marks may also be influenced by hormonal changes associated with puberty, pregnancy, muscle building, hormone replacement therapy for transsexuals, etc.[1] Medical terminology for these kinds of markings includes striae atrophicae, vergetures, stria distensae, striae cutis distensae, striae gravidarum (in cases where it is caused by pregnancy), lineae atrophicae, striae distensae, linea albicante, or simply striae.
SEBORRHEIC KERATOSIS
Keratosis, seborrheic: A benign skin disorder due to excessive growth of the top layer of skin cells, usually found in persons over 30 years old. They may appear as just one growth or in clusters. They are most often brown but can differ in color and range anywhere from light tan to black. They come in different sizes, anywhere from a fraction of an inch (or centimeter) to an inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. The telltale feature of seborrheic keratoses is that they look like they have been pasted on the skin or just stuck on it. They may look like a dab of warm brown candle wax that dropped on the skin. Almost everybody eventually develops at least a few seborrheic keratoses since they tend to become more common and more numerous with age. They are sometimes referred to as "barnacles of old age."
SUN DAMAGE TREATMENT
Sunburn is caused by exposure to the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun. There are two types of ultraviolet rays, UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate the skin more deeply and can cause melanoma in susceptible people. UVB rays, which don't penetrate as deeply, cause sunburn and wrinkling. Most UVB rays are absorbed by sunscreens, but only about half the UVA rays are absorbed. Skin cancer from sun overexposure is a serious health problem in the United States, affecting almost a million Americans each year. One out of 87 will develop malignant melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, and 7, 300 of them will die each year
TATTOO REMOVAL TREATMENT
Laser tattoo removal is an advanced treatment designed to completely eliminate tattoos, without leaving scars or unpigmented areas of skin behind. During a laser tattoo removal treatment, the laser’s high energy light breaks up the tattoo ink into tiny particles, which are gradually absorbed by the skin. Laser tattoo removal may cause slight discomfort, though a local anesthetic can be used to eliminate the pain. Following a laser tattoo removal treatment, minor side effects such as red and tender skin may occur; however, these tend to diminish within three to seven days.
LASER VAGINAL REJUVENATION
Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® for the Enhancement of Sexual Gratification LVR is a one-hour outpatient surgical procedure designed to enhance sexual gratification. Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®) will effectively enhance vaginal muscle tone, strength, and control. It will also effectively decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters as well as build up and strengthen the perineal body (immediately outside the vagina and above the anus). Sexual gratification for the female according to Masters and Johnson is directly related to the amount of frictional forces generated.
VARICOSE VEINS TREATMENT
Varicose veins are a very common condition in the United States and affect approximately 15 percent of men and approximately 25 percent of women. Varicose veins are the blue or purplish enlarged veins you typically see bulging out of one's leg. The word "varicose" is derived from the Latin root word "varix," which is translated in English as "twisted." Any vein in your body may become varicose, however, its important to note that this condition or varicose veins exists most often in the legs and feet. Varicose veins occur in the legs and lower extremities because standing and walking increases the pressure in the veins in the lower half of your body.
WART REMOVAL
Wart removers are medicines used to eliminate wartswarts, which are small, usually painless growths on the skin caused by a virus. Wart remover poisoning occurs when someone accidentally or intentionally swallows or uses more than the normal or recommended amount of this medication
WRINKLE FILLERS TREATMENT
Injectable fillers, or collagen fillers/injections as they are often known, are the latest weapon when it comes to fighting the visible signs of aging. And when used in conjunction with injectables, fillers can dramatically reverse the aging process without the need for surgical interventions or any ‘down time’ at all! This is because injectables and fillers get rid of the two different types of wrinkles that appear on our face as we age: static and dynamic.
WRINKLE REMOVAL TREATMENT
What Are Wrinkles & Why Do We Get Them? Wrinkles (rhytids) are caused from the break down of your underlying collagen and elastin fibers. I don't care what anyone says, you keep making a face: frown, smile, squint, sneer - - you will eventually develop creases and lines where your skin folds repeatedly.
